Famille Perrin La Gille Gigondas - 2022
At Famille Perrin, we are proud to present Le Gille Gigondas, a wine that embodies the elegance and refinement of its origin in the heart of Gigondas. Crafted from vines that thrive on the unique combination of limestone, chalky marl, and sandy safres soils, this 2022 vintage has been shaped by a dry, sunny growing season, with a refreshing burst of rainfall in August. The result is a wine that strikes the perfect balance between aromatic finesse and structure.
Blended with a majority of Grenache and a touch of Syrah, Le Gille is defined by its delicate tannins and remarkable freshness. Aged in foudres, the wine unveils a silky mouthfeel, with complex layers of fine fruit and mineral notes that speak to its terroir. The sandy safres soils, which make up a small portion of the appellation, contribute to the wine’s beautiful suppleness and its aromatic character, all while ensuring it remains light and graceful, without any heaviness.
This wine is not only distinguished but also incredibly fine, reflecting the care and attention we give to every bottle. At Famille Perrin, we believe Le Gille Gigondas offers a true taste of the land - a wine that’s both refined and accessible, ready to delight today and for years to come.

At Famille Perrin, our La Gille Gigondas is crafted from the heart of the renowned Gigondas appellation. This region, nestled between the majestic Dentelles de Montmirail and the plains of the Rhône Valley, offers a terroir unlike any other. Our vineyards are situated halfway up the slope, where the fresh air flows from the valley to the west of the village, creating an ideal microclimate. The unique blend of limestone soils, limestone marl, clay, and the rare safres sands gives our wines an extraordinary aromatic complexity and finesse. This terroir is not only the backbone of our wine but also a key element in the distinctiveness of La Gille.
Winery Information:
At Famille Perrin, we take great pride in our vineyards and the wines we produce. The grapes for La Gille Gigondas come from carefully nurtured vines planted on northwest-facing slopes, some of which are pre-phylloxera Grenache, a rare treasure in the world of viticulture. The safres soils found in our vineyards offer excellent permeability, which allows our Grenache to reach its full potential, producing wines that are both elegant and aromatic without being heavy. We follow sustainable practices to preserve the health of our land and ensure that our wines reflect the true character of the terroir.
History of the Wine:
The 2022 vintage is the result of a unique and challenging growing season. The year started with an exceptionally dry and mild winter and spring, with record temperatures in May and June, followed by a hot summer. However, the timely rains in mid-August allowed the grapes to ripen slowly, ensuring a perfect balance of freshness and aromatic complexity. The harvest, which began early on August 19, saw smaller volumes but exceptional grape quality.
In crafting La Gille, we focused on bringing out the true elegance of Grenache. The wine is gently vinified with delicate extractions, and after malolactic fermentation and blending, it is aged for one year in wood on tuns or in truncated cone-shaped vats. The result is a wine that highlights the finesse of Grenache, with a subtle touch of Syrah providing complexity without overshadowing the delicate fruit and minerality. The 2022 vintage is particularly promising, offering a perfect balance of aromatic complexity, freshness, and fine tannins, all of which reflect the history and future of Gigondas and our passion for exceptional wine.
